About Seaweeding

Learn to grow edible seaweed and algae

Welcome to Seaweeding… where we are a bit too excited about our garden in the sea.

Seaweeding is a space to chat about all things seaweed and algae, especially the good things. Why? Well, we want to share all the benefits of this underrated and oft overlooked marine plant with the world. Seaweed has so much to offer, yet despite sharing this planet together for, let’s see, the entire time man has existed for some bizarre reason a vast number of us humans still feel squeamish about seaweed and algae. Don’t you think that’s kind of odd? Plus seaweed, and algae generally, are way more awesome than many people realise. Did you know that Kelp in the ocean captures 4.5 million tonnes of CO2 from the atmosphere every year, according to New Scientist? Holy crap! How can we not love this stuff?

Anyway, I digress. On a serious note, here at Seaweeding, we want to share all of the wonderful things about seaweed, including how to grow seaweed for food or health, how to start bringing seaweed into your daily diet, how to cook with it, and enjoy the health-promoting properties it can give us. So, from us devout algae lovers here at Seaweeding, please take your time and enjoy reading, and we sincerely hope you learn something of value and develop a greater appreciation for these weeds of the sea during your visit. Cheers!
